Today September 20 – A big Danville Welcome to Gary Garavatti, a Helicopter Pilot for CalStar. Gary is a former Hayward Police Officer and will have many stories to share about both occupations.

Last Regular Meeting August 30 – Our speaker was  Town Manager Joe Calabrigo, who brought along Danville’s new Police Chief Steve Simpkins for introduction. We will have to invite Steve back to talk to us after he has settled in. Joe brought us up to date on how the Town is holding up during this economic downturn (fairly well) and answered questions about activities going on around town.

• Club dues are $200 billed in two increments
• Members strongly encouraged to support the RI Foundation (Every Member Every Year)
• Pay as you go – Recognitions, Firesides, All Socials
• Meals have not been billed since June – large statement coming

Interact Kickoff Party – Jim Cambier reported over 120 students on hand at his home for this annual event.

Dougherty Valley Rotary Charter Celebration – Past RI President Cliff Dochterman of Moraga Rotary was a huge hit with the 70 new Rotarians of the Dougherty Valley Club. All of the valley clubs were sponsors of the new club.
