Last Week – No speaker, no greeter, no RISparkle Sisters to the rescue with a greeter’s gift and greeting and our newest member Steve Simpkins spoke a bit about Chief of Police-ing in Danville.

Red Badge for Steve Simpkins – Steve lives in Clayton with his spouse Kristen and their four children in the age range 10 to 3. His classification is law enforcement. If you have not already done so, please introduce yourself.

Interact Report from Rob Cuenin – There are 75 members in the club, activities include giving 450 books to Books for Barrios, 2000# of food gathered in food drive, and organizing the Senior Ball. Rob’s son Kyle is President this year.

Bring old Rotary Magazines for a PR project. Add sticky labels with contact us information for distribution to public waiting rooms where old magazines are the norm.

Reno Train Feb 21-23 – Registration cutoff is December 12. See Pres Bob for details.

Crab Feed Feb 5 – Now accepting table reservations. See the Sparkle Sisters or Vic G to sign up.
Crab Feed Meeting –  Tomorrow Tuesday Nov 28 at Bob Chace’s office. Need to confirm the time.

57th Anniversary Party Thursday December 8 – Vic G will be wandering around with a clipboard for the next few weeks. See him to register or change your reservation.

Double Foundation Points in November – The club is giving matching points for gifts to the Foundation, this month only, up to $200 per member. For you new Rotarians – a donation of $100 gets you $200 total credit, $200 gets you $400 total credit towards your first Paul Harris or towards another jewel on your PHF pin.

Board Meeting Actions – Walt Schafer, Chico, reported by email that the new Tanzania grant has RI approval. The club will send a check for $1,000 for our participation. The Board approved Justin Clark’s recommendation that the club fund USA Together $500 now for the holiday season, and then $250 per quarter thereafter ($1,000 a year). The Board approved $1,040 for 1/5 of three defibrillators for Golden View, Rancho Romero, and Vista Grande. The other club boards will be voting on their participation.

Dictionary Delivery – Justin Clark is coordinating the effort now that Tiffany is gone. See Justin to participate at one or more of the schools.

One Warm Coat – San Ramon Valley Rotary’s 16th annual coat, sweater, and blanket collection ends December 14. Bob Gibbs is handling collections for our club. He requests that you please go through your closets to see if you have any coats or clothing of any kind that is in good condition that you can donate. Feel free to bring it to the next meeting, or any meeting prior to December 5 and Bob will make sure it gets to the right place.

Greeter Gifts –  It’s great that Greeters are remembering to bring a greeter’s gift. Feel free to get creative (it’s your nickel)

Greeters Gift Winner – Pete Kaldveer wins a nice bottle of wine courtesy of Bob Beaton. HOLD THE PRESSES! Two tickets with the same number? Orin Pierce goes home with the wine. Good thing we are adding all these law enforcement types. Looks like we are going to need them.

Gold Nugget –   Dick Calhoun strikes gold for $125. This week the pot is $25.
